Before I knew it it was time for our first dance. Jeff and I walked out to the dance floor hand-in-hand, dreading dancing in front of so many people
Our first dance was to "Our Love is Here to Stay", and while I LOVED the song and its sentiment, I now really wish we had picked a shorter song. We felt so awkward with everyone staring at us!
Jeff had left his sunglasses on. I really didn't mind, but about halfway through the song I decided I wanted to see his eyes, so I flipped the glasses up onto his head. Immediately everyone started clapping--clearly I was not the first to notice this "problem".
The whole time we were dancing, we did say sweet things to each other like "I love you" and "Oh my gosh, you're really my husband!". But we spent a good portion of the song talking about how uncomfortable it was.
Eventually the song did end, and our parents joined us for the next dance. Halfway through the song our bridal party joined us as well.
After these couple of songs, the dance floor was opened up to everyone, and we loosened up and began to enjoy ourselves as we were joined by all of our guests. Finally, the party had begun!
